I tried to drag it to the card, while in the nook, and still get a message that there is not enough space. There is plenty of space even though it keeps giving me the same message.

Why not try taking it out of the NOOK and putting it into your computer and installing the movie file that way?

That would be my suggestion as well. Movies take up a huge amount of room. Many are so bad I don't want to watch them more then once anyway. I know Netflix stinks but best to stick to streaming video to Nook. Don't know if the program suggested here would let you burn the computer file to DVD. Paid version of Nero can do this & overcome CP issue but it's $70.
I have a couple of travel videos I downloaded from the library. Would like to keep these for future reference as they expire in 7 days. They are sitting in Overdrive Media Console. Are in WMA format which not acceptable to Nook & won't burn to DVD in unpaid versions Nero or Roxio which can't handle DVD & does not recognize this format. (However both do a good job on music CDs even if CP is present)Video file is copy protected. Don't want to mess with the library file but could I copy the file to another folder & use DVD Catlyst & convert to send to Nook OR leave as it & burn to a DVD? Would rather burn to DVD as I think I will still have to deal with 7 day expiration if sent to Nook.
If anyone knows, please post.

To quote DVDCatalyst:
These so-called "Digital Copies" that you get with some Bluray & DVD movies (or the ones some memorycard companies give away) are DRM-protected, meaning that a device and the file needs to be activated and connected to eachother in order for it to play. The NOOKcolor doesn't have this activation system. The same goes for movies you can purchase/rent from iTunes.
In general, unless you have an Apple device or play them on your computer, "Digital Copies" are pretty much useless.

The Ultraviolet approach is to permit streaming to the device via Flixster.
But if (1) you check the video file (right click, properties in Windows) and you (2) check the SD card "drive" in the computer (right click, properties in Windows), and it shows more than enough free space, and it does not say that the drive is showing up as Read-Only, its a puzzle why it would have trouble writing the file.
Thing is, a USB micro-SD adapter is normally under $5 at Amazon, so copying straight to the microSD card and then plugging it into the Nook would be my first effort at a solution, and if that worked, I'd never actually get around to solving the problem with the micro-SD card reader function built into the Nook Color.
