Since 1997, you’ve been coming to BarnesandNoble.com to discuss everything from Stephen King to writing to Harry Potter. You’ve made our site more than a place to discover your next book: you’ve made it a community. But like all things internet, BN.com is growing and changing. We've said goodbye to our community message boards—but that doesn’t mean we won’t still be a place for adventurous readers to connect and discover.

Now, you can explore the most exciting new titles (and remember the classics) at the Barnes & Noble Book Blog. Check out conversations with authors like Jeff VanderMeer and Gary Shteyngart at the B&N Review, and browse write-ups of the best in literary fiction. Come to our Facebook page to weigh in on what it means to be a book nerd. Browse digital deals on the NOOK blog, tweet about books with us,or self-publish your latest novella with NOOK Press. And for those of you looking for support for your NOOK, the NOOK Support Forums will still be here.

We will continue to provide you with books that make you turn pages well past midnight, discover new worlds, and reunite with old friends. And we hope that you’ll continue to tell us how you’re doing, what you’re reading, and what books mean to you.

My Favorite part of the update so far ...

is that the "cute nook video" post is no longer stickied in the forums.

hahahahaha...AGREE!!

Now if we could also "ignore" threads that we have no interest in, I'd be even happier. I get so confused trying to sift through all the threads, especially with the influx yesterday since the update.

Other than the apps, it's great that a tap of the battery icon now gives us today's date and battery status. Love it! Also, the option to slide the page turning for books is nice too. All things considered, B&N did a very good udate.

Seriously, my favorite part of the update is that I can view videos now.

At first I thought nothing had changed...but then I started surfing to different sites and was really happy that I can watch things like CNN Video on my Nook now.

I'm most disappointed with the fact that ALL the game apps cost money.  Not ONE was free.   Not even a free trial.

Really? I think they gave us a pretty crap update considering all of the date push backs. I was expecting something impressive, and I certainly wasn't expecting so many obvious bugs right from the get go.

I also feel like they're gearing the Color version more towards children or parents... and since I am neither, I find it to be such a bummer.
