Sideloaded book/pdf/reading material Facts

Can someone post under this thread facts we need to know about sideloading books of any file type.  I have a friend that just bought a nookcolor and is doing way more sideloading than I and I don't know that I remember everything I've heard, I was hoping to get all the information concentrated in one thread that I can pull from.   She has been using calibre to convert stuff to epub in hopes to have a better reading experience.  I haven't used that yet but I know we have posts on how well it works.  Thank you in advance.

Re: Sideloaded book/pdf/reading material Facts

Sideloading is covered pretty well in the user's guide. Plus there is a video on the B&N site for sideloading.

At the top of the page is a search box, type in Calibre and you will probably find something. If not, go to the Calibre home page and see their excellent help section. It is a very nice piece of free software, but does have a little bit of a learning curve if you want to use it for more than just sideloading books.
