I searched the threads for an answer to my question but couldn't find it, so here goes...
I know how the facebook & twitter apps work, but what does the google app do other than import your contacts? I hesitate to activate it because I'm not sure I want all my contacts downloaded to my NC and what purpose that would do?
I use the facebook app all the time and it's pretty nifty!
BTW, I absolutely adore my NOOKcolor...LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!

Activating the Google social app allows you to e-mail quotes from B&N books to those contacts.

Thanks for the response riffrafff! I figured it had something to with that, so do you know if you can pick and choose email addresses or would it go out to all your contacts? Can you delete some contacts from your NC? Normally, I'm a "just push the button and see what it does!" kind of girls, but I didn't want to do something that could potentially spam my customers that are in my contact list!

You remind me of when I was a little girl, and my mom told me not to touch the iron because it was hot...so what did I do? You guessed it, I touched the iron!! LOL!!
I'm glad you are loving your NookColor--I love mine too, and I never leave home without it!!
Welcome to the wonderful world of Nook!!!

Yea, we've always claimed my son got his ADD from his father but I know I'm partially responsible too...though I'll never admit it! ![]()
Back on topic...I opened a new gmail acct for the purpose of trying out this nifty feature and when you recommend a book, you can add a personalized message to the person it's going to and they receive an email.
The email comes from Nook by Barnes & Noble with the subject line that says "NookBookGirl Thought You Might Like This"
Then, in the body of the email it has the colorful Nook logo with a BIG NOTE THAT SAYS "You've Got to Read This!" Under that, it says again, "NookBookGirl recommends that you read Child 44." Under that is your personalized message to the recipient along with an image of the book cover and a link that says "Buy Now at BN.COM" The bookcover and title are also hyper-linked to go directly to the website.
Oh, you can also add contacts directly in the NOOKcolor.
I think it's pretty cool for people who like to share their book recommendations, however, if I had a Kindle I'd probably get annoyed receiving these emails from friends that take me directly to the B&N website. Oh well, too bad--I guess you should've bought a NOOKcolor! ![]()
