Since 1997, you’ve been coming to BarnesandNoble.com to discuss everything from Stephen King to writing to Harry Potter. You’ve made our site more than a place to discover your next book: you’ve made it a community. But like all things internet, BN.com is growing and changing. We've said goodbye to our community message boards—but that doesn’t mean we won’t still be a place for adventurous readers to connect and discover.

Now, you can explore the most exciting new titles (and remember the classics) at the Barnes & Noble Book Blog. Check out conversations with authors like Jeff VanderMeer and Gary Shteyngart at the B&N Review, and browse write-ups of the best in literary fiction. Come to our Facebook page to weigh in on what it means to be a book nerd. Browse digital deals on the NOOK blog, tweet about books with us,or self-publish your latest novella with NOOK Press. And for those of you looking for support for your NOOK, the NOOK Support Forums will still be here.

We will continue to provide you with books that make you turn pages well past midnight, discover new worlds, and reunite with old friends. And we hope that you’ll continue to tell us how you’re doing, what you’re reading, and what books mean to you.

Predictable

[ Edited ]

My only regret in B&N locking the antecedent thread, is that it was locked before I could post a message there, predicting that it would soon be locked.  The locking (or deleting) of the thread was predictable with 100% certainty;  the only issue was the timing.  And no, I didn't report the thread.  My guess is that it would have been discovered (from the title) and locked without any reports.

It was also virtually certain that this thread would be started in response.  Who would start it was also fairly predictable, but somewhat less certain.

To claim (or feign) surprise that any of the above happened, is to misunderstand the business world (and the people here).

Re: Predictable

Don't know why the title would get the thread locked.. but I don't know all the answers..... I do know, clearing the cache did not change anything. The shop still has stupid recommendations as well, like recommending books I've already bought and, always suggesting the nook user guide. Ummm, I own a nook COLOR, why would THAT recommemdation be helpful? Annoying,, at best. My gay friends are excited by the prospect of a secret pro gay agenda at B&N headquarters. ;-) I'm sure the homophobic readers of this post will now be offended. ?...another thread about to be "locked"? :-)

Re: Predictable

Be nice if they had an option, like with net flix, where you could click not interested, already read, or add to wish list.
