Since 1997, you’ve been coming to BarnesandNoble.com to discuss everything from Stephen King to writing to Harry Potter. You’ve made our site more than a place to discover your next book: you’ve made it a community. But like all things internet, BN.com is growing and changing. We've said goodbye to our community message boards—but that doesn’t mean we won’t still be a place for adventurous readers to connect and discover.

Now, you can explore the most exciting new titles (and remember the classics) at the Barnes & Noble Book Blog. Check out conversations with authors like Jeff VanderMeer and Gary Shteyngart at the B&N Review, and browse write-ups of the best in literary fiction. Come to our Facebook page to weigh in on what it means to be a book nerd. Browse digital deals on the NOOK blog, tweet about books with us,or self-publish your latest novella with NOOK Press. And for those of you looking for support for your NOOK, the NOOK Support Forums will still be here.

We will continue to provide you with books that make you turn pages well past midnight, discover new worlds, and reunite with old friends. And we hope that you’ll continue to tell us how you’re doing, what you’re reading, and what books mean to you.

Netflix streaming will not happen. The streaming from Netflix makes use of DRM, which doesn't work on most Android devices. Initially Netflix for Android was announced for some existing models, but from how it has been going the last couple of weeks, it seems that only new devices will have that capability.

If you have the DVD + Streaming plan for Netflix, you can always convert the DVDs though:

For Hulu, an updated flash-player is needed, which might make it possible in the next update for the NOOKcolor, but this is still a little while off.

That would run into copyright problems. If I buy the DVD then I can under fair use rip it and wach the movie on the NC. If I rent the DVD I do not own it so makeing a copy would be a no-no.

TI will support the netflix DRM on a future OMAP processor.  So some Android tablets should have it in the near future.  The current version won't have it. Maybe a future version?

I watch movies and tv shows on Netflix, Hulu Plus, Crackle and TV.com all the time on my NC so I'm not sure what one of the other posts was about saying that you can't. Unless they were refering to your NC being stock and not rooted then yeah...you're pretty limited.

The posts saying you can't appeared before the Netflix app was available.  It works fine for me, but I wish the resolution was a bit better.

DinoKym, Netflix originally claimed that their DRM was hardware enforced (via DRM encoders built into the device). XDA blew that claim off in about half a day...all it took was changing one line in the build.prop file (though, I do admit, it still does not work for all the Android devices...oddly enough, some of the newer ones!!). It does work great on CM7 or rooted NC's, though!

Re: Want to download and watch my Netflix movies on my ColorNook

JohnF76, I'm on CM nightly 114 with the build.prop edit which is why I'm able to watch Netflix thanks to the guys at XDA. The first answer to this posts question made it sound like fantasy to think you could do those things which is what I was jumping on. I've been watching it for at least a month...maybe longer on different nighlties.
