Since 1997, you’ve been coming to to discuss everything from Stephen King to writing to Harry Potter. You’ve made our site more than a place to discover your next book: you’ve made it a community. But like all things internet, is growing and changing. We've said goodbye to our community message boards—but that doesn’t mean we won’t still be a place for adventurous readers to connect and discover.

Now, you can explore the most exciting new titles (and remember the classics) at the Barnes & Noble Book Blog. Check out conversations with authors like Jeff VanderMeer and Gary Shteyngart at the B&N Review, and browse write-ups of the best in literary fiction. Come to our Facebook page to weigh in on what it means to be a book nerd. Browse digital deals on the NOOK blog, tweet about books with us,or self-publish your latest novella with NOOK Press. And for those of you looking for support for your NOOK, the NOOK Support Forums will still be here.

We will continue to provide you with books that make you turn pages well past midnight, discover new worlds, and reunite with old friends. And we hope that you’ll continue to tell us how you’re doing, what you’re reading, and what books mean to you.

Was the last update pushed to your rooted nook?

More detail below, but straight to the question - who here was rooted when 1.1.0 came out, did not apply the tweak to stop the update, and actually had 1.1.0 OTA pushed out on top of rooted 1.0.1?

I rooted at 1.0.0. after seeing a YouTube video of a rooted device.  Unfortunately I just got everything the way I liked it rooted and 1.0.1 was pushed out two days later and cratered my nook.    Not to worry though, just did the two-step factory reset documented online and everything worked perfect again, all my books were available again.

After installing 1.0.1 I rooted again, then after signing into market, I could see all the apps I had purchased (both on phone and on NC) and downloaded those.  So all I really lost was content I have copied over (files and presentations - which I had a copy of on PC), and free apps that I loaded, I just had to reload those.

I DID NOT apply the tweak to stop 1.1.0 from applying.   Figured I'd ride the update wave, see what happened.  It was never pushed to my system, and I was on wireless every day.   I wondered if maybe BN did some check to see if you were rooted and didn't push the update?

I have high-speed FIOS and a good wireless N router, even like to sit up at BN with my nook and coffee, so I'm sure the issue wasn't my connection.
