What are the little balloon things?

Can someone please tell me what the little balloon looking things are next to each thread and why some are red and some green? I know its not a huge deal but it has been driving me a little crazy for a few days now. Please end my suffering!

Hello, I believe red means it is a hot topic, green is just green, and a arrow in it means that you responded. I could be wrong, I have never been told what they mean.

You can mouse over any of them to see what they mean, but here's a list:

- Topic

- Hot Topic

- Topic with new content

- Topic you repiled to

- Hot topic you replied to

- Hot topic with new content - you replied

- Contains an image in first post

- Contains a hyperlink in first post

- First post contains no text (blank post)
