No reset.  Manually updated to 1.2.  Never rooted.

Sideloaded myself --- Got Hit Today  -- Awful!

 

Everything is back now except 1 gray app icon.

 

Still love my nook.

In the "none of the above" camp:

 

I was hit with the reset.

I manually loaded 1.2 on Monday.

I have not rooted.

(NC was sleeping when this happened... they woke it up to do this! :smileysad: )

Got hit, never rooted, manually updated Monday.

 

I'm curious if another variable is the time we got hit.  I got hit about noon PDT.  Perhaps those who did not get hit were not connected during the time the mess occurred so when they eventually connected, B&N had shut down the servers.

Got hit...cleaned house....reset....everything's back to the 1.2 norm.

Manually updated Monday morning...

Immediately lost WI-Fi connection.

Performed hard reset on Monday afternoon per B&N tech's advice.

Have been unable to get beyond stage 4 of re-registering device as NC will not connect to Wi-Fi.

Never had "normal" condition after update.

Makes a nice paper weight now.

G....never got hit by reset, never rooted an did update on monday. I was online last night, but turned my wifi off before going to bed, glad I did now. have not had any problems since the up date. But have not been on wifi since last night....an I am scared to!!! I mean, is going to happen no matter what? Am I doomed? Or will I be ok if I just wait an stay off wifi?

I had manually upgraded but it is now back to 1.1.  Not rooted, got hit.  Everything is gone!

Was not hit by reset. Never rooted. Sideload update monday afternoon (EST). Wifi was off all day until after 7:30pm, and it was asleep for most of the day.

Also wanted to add, that I have not tried to access the shop or any apps today. I have only read a book and a few magazines, as well as use the web for a short period of time.

But then I haven't turned on WiFi since this morning

And since I have heard about it, I've made a text file listing everything that was side-loaded and what was on each of my shelves. Hope that'll help if all gets wiped out.

I was finally able to re-register using a wireless hotspot.  Reloaded my books, and the update seems to work adequately.  BUT - I still cannot access my home wireless network. Help!
