Copying URLs is a long press on the link and the copy link URL option. I've never seen a paste option in a browser address bar, search box or text box, but if you have an app that has a paste function, that will export the URL from the browser.

The alternate browsers from the shop, puffin and dolphin, support this function.

I should note in my answer that the long press to copy URL's in the stock browser is ONLY for links, so the reason its no happening when you long press the address bar is its not in the address bar long press menu. So in the stock browser, either go down and press on the page's self link, for pages that either have breadcrumbs or a title pointing to itself, or else back up to the page that you linked into from.
I was deliberately avoiding discussing Dolphin, since I hadn't realized that DolphinHD was in the B&N app store. Yes, I checked my Dolphin-Mini and the address bar has quite an extensive long press menu, including copy URL and paste, so I'm sure that DolphinHD will have that much if not more.
OK, tick off a browser that lets me download mp3's into the Music folder, Project Gutenburg books into the Books folder and bus timetables into the Documents folder from my "want list" on the stock B&N side. Now all I need is a Crunchyroll app, a Crackle app, and a YouTube app and a SB Nation app and I can go back to stock.
