Since 1997, you’ve been coming to BarnesandNoble.com to discuss everything from Stephen King to writing to Harry Potter. You’ve made our site more than a place to discover your next book: you’ve made it a community. But like all things internet, BN.com is growing and changing. We've said goodbye to our community message boards—but that doesn’t mean we won’t still be a place for adventurous readers to connect and discover.

Now, you can explore the most exciting new titles (and remember the classics) at the Barnes & Noble Book Blog. Check out conversations with authors like Jeff VanderMeer and Gary Shteyngart at the B&N Review, and browse write-ups of the best in literary fiction. Come to our Facebook page to weigh in on what it means to be a book nerd. Browse digital deals on the NOOK blog, tweet about books with us,or self-publish your latest novella with NOOK Press. And for those of you looking for support for your NOOK, the NOOK Support Forums will still be here.

We will continue to provide you with books that make you turn pages well past midnight, discover new worlds, and reunite with old friends. And we hope that you’ll continue to tell us how you’re doing, what you’re reading, and what books mean to you.

more about "page saved to different device"

So I think I have noticed a pattern with the message of pages being saved to a different device that some users and myself have been getting since v1.3

When I'm at work I connect to the WiFi there and read/check email/check facebook.

When I open a book at work I get the message and then when I open it at home I get the message. So it seems that I get the prompt to sync pages from a different device when I open a book when connected to a different WiFi

I'm assuming that this is not supposed to happen for specific connections but would come in handy when there is actually a different device.

Can anyone else confirm this or has this already been confirmed?

There was a thread running on the Community Manager page earlier (w/in the last two weeks) where I made a comment where I noticed the same thing you are noticing, but no one responded back.  I too only get the message when I open a book with WIFI on.  It has to be that connection somehow (at least in my limited bit o knowledge) as I don't have any other NOOK devices (not on my computer, phone or any other).  I'm relieved to know that I'm not the only one noticing this issue being somehow connected to the WIFI.  (P.S. to any community room manager that is interested, I only connect my NC to my WIFI at home an have this issue, my work won't allow an outside connection, so the issue Schwa and I are experiencing doesn't appear to be an issue of connecting to one network then connecting to another network.)

Re: more about "page saved to different device"

This was not the case in my case.  When it was happening to me, I had been using my home wifi exclusively.

After that I did start using my Android phone to look at some books and/or my N2E and there were times when I'd think it was due to them, but the page numbers didn't match up.  And it would still happen on books I had just downloaded onto the NC and not on any other devices or apps.

What I also started experiencing was the Failed to Archive problem, so I de-registered and re-registered and haven't had the page thing or archive issue occur since.  I tend to think there is something screwy with both that may be related.  It's like the NC recognizes different things on the system (NOOK or app), but can't quite figure out which one's in charge.

None of my other devices or the Android or PC apps has had either of these issues.
