Has anyone had a problem with the nook color shutting down randomly or freezing? I will be in the middle of reading or searching and it will not turn the page or it will shut down.

Have you tried shutting the nook down and starting it back up? Not the quick "sleep" shutdown, but the full several second "Do you want to turn your device completely off?" shutdown and restart? What's your battery level?

By completely shutting off the nook it did temporaily work and my battery is over half charged. I did not know if I should take my nook back to B&N.

This has been happening to me intermittently over the past month; either it freezes and won't turn the page, or when I try to bring it out of sleep mode, it shuts down completely. My hysband complains that this has happened to him as well.
I intend to contact customer service on this, since my nook is under warranty.

Try cleaning the screen with a microfiber cloth.
