A definive warranty answer, for God's sake!

ok, a quick straight forward problem with a chase-my-tail result:

I bought a Nook color at walmart in Dec 2011, so it still under MANUFACTURERS warranty:

just like a million other people, my charger is not working...

Sooo, i contact customer support here, and they tell me that because i bought it at walmart, i have to discuss it with walmart. this does not make any sense to me at all. it is long passed the 15-30 days replacement thing that walmart has, and i did not buy the walmart extended warranty, so i am in agreement with the walmart customer service person who says "why would walmart be responsible to handle this?"

why in the world WOULD walmart be anyway responsible for something i bought off of them 7 months ago, that is an obvious manufacturers issue...especially since i did not buy an extended warranty from them?

i just want my cord replaced, why is this such a hassle?

Re: A definive warranty answer, for God's sake!

Listen, I'm HIGHLY annoyed with customer service at barnes and noble.

I too bought my nook color back in June 2011 from Walmart. So, my nook was under warranty for a year. Well, the faithful top quality nook color charger broke (who are we kidding...that charger is something awful), and I contacted customer service. They told me, your nook color is still under warranty, we will send you a replacement!. Well, it's July, ONE MONTH later, and no charger has been sent to me. I contacted them for the THIRD time today and guess what they said? Well, your warranty is expired (although it wasn't expired when I first contacted them), and now they say I won't be getting my charger after awful.

At least we know walmart probably would've replaced it. Can't say the same for barnes and noble.

Since you are still under the manufacturers warranty, I see no reason why B&N would withhold a charger from you. My advice would be to go to a B&N store and explain the situation. They can order a charger for you on their computer and have it sent to your home address. If this is not ideal, call customer service again and emphasize that Walmart would not help. If you make no progress, ask for a supervisor. It doesn't matter where you purchased the device; if you are still under warranty, B&N has an obligation to help you.

Please let us know any updates.

Again, go to B&N or call CS and possibly ask for a supervisor. Both the store and CS can see your original call date from the notes left on your account. The representatives take notes of every call. There is no reason for that.
