I recently installed CM7 7.1.0-RC1-encore-signed running on the SD card and cannot find an installable version on the Nook reader app in Marketplace. Is there a compatible version and where can I download it from? Thanks.

Yes, I have it running on my CM7ed nc (although I'm using an earlier version of 7.1). Look for B&N Nook or NOOK for Android by B&N. I have version 2.7.1 and see that it's been downloaded by others more than a million times. It works well. At least for me, I found and installed it via Marketplace. Here's more info:

I had the same issue as well. For some reason, Android Market does not seem to consider a CM7 Nook Color as a "compatible device" for Nook App (even though the requirement says 2.1 and up and CM7 is 2.3.4).
I was able to find a slightly older version of Nook App (2.6.2 instead of 2.7.1) at freewarelovers - http://www.freewarelovers.com/android/app/nook. You can give that a shot.

Very interesting. I wonder if it's our version of CM7, our gapps, or something else since I have the B&N Nook installed and running on my nc. One other possibility is that I had the previous version installed, then updated to 2.7.1. So it'd be worth installing 2.6.2 then seeing if Market states an update is available. See also:

yes but only when you download the lcd dinsity app and change the density to 160 then clear the market data then it lets you download lots of uncompatible apps that are now compatible like bn nook color, adobe flash, facebook, etc.

Be sure you're using a reasonably current version of CM7 as well. You may still have to do the dpi-reset+Play Store data & cache clear dance, but there are far fewer problems. I recommend the CM 7.2 RC0 Mirage build.
