My Nook turns on ok, but when I click on a book that read fine yesterday, after the cover page the screen goes black. Any ideas of what may be wrong?

I had the same problem and I held down the power button for 20 secs which will reboot your Nook. It worked. I know can enjoy my books again!

Thank you! I've been losing my mind trying to make it work. I thought it was because i loaded books from my library! All better - ahhhhh!

I am so glad I just read your response! I ran into the same problem! Whenever I tried to open a book my screen went black as well. Now I'll know to reboot. Glad to know other people can figure this stuff out! Thank you!

Thank you sooo much!!! I've been googling every possible option to figure this out when I had the same problem! I was going crazy, especially since one of the books I need for a major report is on my nook! You're a life saver!

There is a timeout feature that can be changed if that is something that might be happening. By default it is 2 minutes and the screen goes black. I changed my timeout to 5 minutes and it allows me to read my book without my screen going black on me.

You are a lifesaver. I was putting me in a foul mood when it just wouldn't come back on.
It's working great again now.
Thank you.
