Although I have only an "average" number of apps on my Nook, I almost always get low memory messages when installing app updates. Are there items on the built-in memory that I should move to the (16GB) memory card? There's plenty of room there.

You may need to get your NC repartitioned at a BN store. That would allow for more room for apps. The original NC's were not partioned to allow enough room for many apps. If your memory says x.xxGB free of 5.23GB then you can get it repartioned. This would give you two storage partitions: 7GB for os and BN content and 1GB for sideloaded content. You can not put BN apps on the SD card, although you could archive apps if you needed to free up memory.
