Nook Color tinted yellow

I have had my Nook Color for a year and a half and it has recently started having a problem.  At first when I would turn it on it would be tinted yellow for a few seconds or minute and then the screen would appear normal. Now it is yellow and stays yellow.  Has anyone else had this issue? Do you have a solution?

Unfortunately it sounds like bad screen. I'd try a hard reboot/factory fallback just in case. To do that turn off the nook then simultaneously press and hold the power button and nook button. I personally find the timing a little tricky but usually get it if I do about a five count while "Read Forever" is on screen then release the power button. You should get a yellow flash then instructions on how to proceed.

I don't have much hope for that though I suspect a hardware problem, and suggest you contact your local store or the 1-800 number to find out about the Out of Warranty exchange options.

Oh, wow -- thanks for the Q&A!  My dd has been exeriencing the same yellow tint problem for several months now -- her NC is 16 months old.  I'll have her try the hard reboot Scott70 suggested, and if that doesn't work, I'll be glad for the extended warranty I purchased for her with the NC.
