Hi,
I've had my NookColor for about a month or so and it's doing something that it didn't used to. When I put it to sleep and wake it up, and I press the little picture that looks like a book down at the bottom, instead of bringing up the book I was just reading, it brings up a sample of a book I have in my library. At first I thought it was a glitch so I powered all the way down, and even deleted that particular book from my account online. Didn't matter- next time it picked another sample book to open. It's not that I can't get to the book I'm reading, I can. It's just that I seem to recall the little book symbol bringing me back to my current read at any time.

You are correct, the book symbol at the bottom of the screen should bring you back to the last page read in whatever you are currently reading, if that is not happening try going to your home screen, the "Keep Reading" with symbol in the upper left corner of the home screen will tell you what is the current read. If that is not the book you want, tap on "More" in the upper right corner of the home screen and choose your book from the list. Once the book is open, return to the home screen and check to make sure the "current read" is still that book. Put the nook to sleep, wake it up and check your current read at the home screen, if it has changed to a sample or when you open your current book it is not what you are reading, than I would suggest you call customer service.
My NC has lost the current read a few times and opened something else but this has only happened with sideloaded content and never with a book from BN. However, going to the home screen and reopening the correct book has always solved the problem.

I did what you suggested and despite the fact that I bought the book and I'm reading it, when I click "more" and select the book I'm reading, it says, "Sorry the content you're attempting to open is no longer avaialble." Would you happen to have the number I would call for service?

I'm sorry you're going through this. The number for Digital Support is 1-800-THE-BOOK, option 2.

Maybe try and archive it then re-download. Access library, find the book in question, press and hold, select archive in the popup.
Then go to shelves, scroll to bottom shelf (Archived books)and select book to download it. Test it out. Call Cust sup if it gives you the same bad result.
hope this helps

First, let me say that all of your responses have been wonderful. What a nice community of folks here.
Somehow I managed to fix the problem. I think I archived the book and re-downloaded it again. And then had to shut it down and power up. In any case I've noticed the NC has a few "glitches" but so far nothing that has kept me from totally enjoying the device. I love it. And I was a die-hard page-turner, if you know what I mean. The NC was a gift and I didn't even take it out of the drawer for a week!
I do hope they update the software to make web browsing more current.
Thanks again.

I had exactly the same problem and the archive / unarchive worked for me. Just remember to write down your current page number before you do that because it will be on page one when you bring it back.
Many thanks!
