Screen goes blank when opening ANY book I have

Just have my NookColor for about a month, and today when I went to open a book to read the screen goes completely blank.   ANy thoughts?  Do I need to return this?  HELP!

Have you tried a complete power off and restart? Don't just put it to sleep - hold down the power button until it goes past the shutdown message.

I was playing a game on my Nook tablet yesterday (2/20/12) and the screen suddenly went blank. There was a very slightly glow to it, but it was basically black. I pressed all sorts of buttons and couldn't get it back. I thought maybe the charge was low, so I plugged it in. After about 5 minutes, I held the power button and after a few moments, my Nook came back to life. I see here that a few people have problems when reading books, but what about anything like this with games? Other apps?

I just got a nook tablet for my birthday and the screen went black several days after having it. So, I tried turning it off but it didn't respond. When I plug it up it flashes the nook sylmbol and then goes black again.
