Sync Problems

I can't get my nook to sync to my lap, i am using windows 7, i have tried everything i know to do, i have the latest version of the plugins and have restarted the comp. many times but it will not register. it has only recognized it once and then never again. what do i do to fix this.

If the problem is the laptop is not recognizing the nook;

If your laptop has a port that allows you to charge mobile devices while it is plugged in but either in sleep mode or powered off, try using that port. Try different ports regardless.

i have tried all the ports, it fired up once and i could add files and pics. Now it will charge the nook from my lap but it will not recognize it so i can acually manage things on it or add pics,pdfs, ect.

Welcome to the Nook forums. Sorry to hear you are having trouble getting your computer to talk to your Nook.

 

Just to clarify, are you talking about a classic black-and-white e-ink Nook, or a NookColor?

 

If the latter, you will probably get more help on one of the NookColor forums. B&N mistakenly directs all Nook traffic here even though they split the boards several weeks ago.

Plug the nook into your laptop.

     Is any error message displayed in Windows when you do this?

 

Try this after disconnecting your nook;

  • Turn your laptop off.
  • Remove the laptop battery and wait 5 minutes.
  • Replace the battery and turn your laptop back on.
  • Plug your nook in and see if it's recognized now.
