damaged nook color screen

im just wanting to know what options i have on fixing my nookcolor screen. i bought the nookcolor in mid december, and since then theres been problem after problem. such as the screen flickering, not wanting to turn back on and just freezing. but overall i kinda like it u know. so that stuff really didnt bother me. what reaaly bothered me was me waking up to use the nookcolor, i plug it in to the charger because for some reason thats the only way the nook powers up. so its plugged in, as soon as it powers on, i see a huge black dot on the screen probably the same size as a half dollar piece. im very clueless as to how that would have happened. ive rebooted, did shutdowns and still nothin... can u please assist me in any way possible.

I'd take it back to the store and let them have a look at it.

As Atomant said - take it back to the store and discuss the problem with the store manager.

The large black dot you describe is definitely not a good sign.  In addition, the other problems you describe (i.e. screen flickering, freezing, having to have it plugged in in order to power on) are also not normal. 

Everything considered I think I would definitely get a replacement NOOKColor.  Either a straight exchange at the store if they will do it, or failing that call Customer Support at 1-800-THE-BOOK and choose Digital Support to talk to a representative.

Umm not sure why you would even post?????lol take it back and get a new one...!!! I got my replacment last night... I bought my first one in NOV 20 something and it had many issues and just got it replaced last night.

I haven't seen this on my Nook Color but I have seen a similar effect on the LCD screen of one of the laptops I support at work.  In that case it was physical damage to the screen resulting from the laptop being dropped.  But in that case it was not in the center of the screen in was in the corner near the point of impact where it was dropped.

Don't be afraid to use the warranty.  You wouldn't put up with a new car having its engine explode after a couple of months, don't put up with it on your NC!

Your best option is to return to a retail store and have an associate assist you in the diagnosis of the issue and if not resolved, assist you in replacing your device.

Did you have to take the receipt to get it fixed? I turned mine on today and there was a big black dot as well. I'm freaking out!
