I've had this device for a little less than 3 weeks. I noticed immediately that the touchscreen didn't respond as quickly as my Nook ST but it wasn't a big issue, just a couple second lag. Lately I've been noticing that it won't turn the page at times when I tap the screen and I have to use the side buttons. Also, not a major problem so I didn't worry about it much.
Last night I decided to start a new book. I couldn't get the screen to wake up. The "n" button woks fine but I couldn't swipe the screen to unlock. Did 5 or 6 soft resets, no change. I was at about 85% battery so I chaged it to 100%. After 10 or 15 soft resets I finally got it to work. I managed to read about 40 pages but had to use the side buttons to turn the pages. This morning I tried again and couldn't unlock the screen. Five soft resets later I finally got it to respond and now it's working and has been working just fine for over an hour.
I hate having to screw with it for 20 or 30 minutes just to get the thing to turn on!
Am I the only one having these problems? Any suggestions on what to do when my issues are so inconsistent?

And it's not working again ![]()
I decided I'll have to make the trip to our closest Barnes & Noble today. Hopefully somebody there will be able to help.

This was my first time dealing with customer service in the B&N store. I got the store manager, she looked at it, said it was nothing she had ever seen before and we went over the steps I had taken to fix the issue. Within 5 minutes she exchanged it and I now have a brand new Nook.

Glad to hear thet were able to help you. The in-store service is generally good, from what I've heard. If you live near a store, it's your best bet when you're having trouble.

The nook StGL screen is frozen. The top 1 inch of the screen is the screen saver whhich changes occasionally and the lower portion of the page is the book I am currently reading. The book page can not be changed no matter what I try including soft reboot and recharge of the battery. Any ideas?

Tme to take it into a B&N store (if you live near one) or call CS. It sounds like a malfunctioning device.

Try cleaning the screen. I was having this issue and tried lots of stuff I have seen on the forums. Even did a hard reset back to factory defaults, no joy.
A few drops of Windex on a clean tissue solved the problem.

I hope you did a clear water rinse afterward (water on a clean tissue). The chemicals in Windex can damage the screen.
