You can clear the search results in Shop and Library by going to Settings -> Search, but I don't believe there's a way to clear searches ("find") within the book you're currently reading. Or if there is I can't find it. The little x to the right of the search text box will clear the most recent search text but it won't clear the list.

I've given up on B&N fixing the "vanishing shelves" and "page 1 of 1" glitches. The "find list" is another minor irritation that will live on forever. If each book had its own indelible find list, that would be less of a nuisance. However, the list is recent searches regardless of the current book being read.
Big deal? Not at all. Would I buy the NST again? You bet! Recommend it to a friend? Hmm ... not so sure.
