Since 1997, you’ve been coming to BarnesandNoble.com to discuss everything from Stephen King to writing to Harry Potter. You’ve made our site more than a place to discover your next book: you’ve made it a community. But like all things internet, BN.com is growing and changing. We've said goodbye to our community message boards—but that doesn’t mean we won’t still be a place for adventurous readers to connect and discover.

Now, you can explore the most exciting new titles (and remember the classics) at the Barnes & Noble Book Blog. Check out conversations with authors like Jeff VanderMeer and Gary Shteyngart at the B&N Review, and browse write-ups of the best in literary fiction. Come to our Facebook page to weigh in on what it means to be a book nerd. Browse digital deals on the NOOK blog, tweet about books with us,or self-publish your latest novella with NOOK Press. And for those of you looking for support for your NOOK, the NOOK Support Forums will still be here.

We will continue to provide you with books that make you turn pages well past midnight, discover new worlds, and reunite with old friends. And we hope that you’ll continue to tell us how you’re doing, what you’re reading, and what books mean to you.

That is so awesome!  I cannot wait to finish the book I am reading and start Sherlock Holmes (among others).

Very cool that they did actually listen to their customers.  Do those other people ever do that?

@FrogAlum

Wow -- B&N really DID read all the suggestions.  This list looks a lot like the consensus top picks.  Nice job, B&N.  Look at all the Dickens ...

... and no more Henry James!  :smileyvery-happy::smileyvery-happy::smileyvery-happy:

These are all new, no duplication this week so my total is now 117 BN Classics Series eBooks!  Thank you B&N!

FYI:  The number of eBooks in the BN Classics Series is now 202 up from 183.

I have 118 separate classics that I've downloaded... I say separate, because I have 11 duplicates as well... Is it safe to delete one of each duplicate?  I'd really hate to delete a dupe and end up losing that book altogether.

Back it up to you computer first, then delete the dupe.  If everything goes as it should, you can delete the extra backup anytime, or keep it.  If disaster occurs, you can move the backup to My Documents. :smileywink:

Delete the dups, it's not a problem.  I'd love to know what #118 is, the rest of us have 117...  Doug has a list posted in the eBook forum...

Going to compare that list with what I have on mine and see if I can find which one it is... or isn't... I AM from Kentucky originally, so we aren't known for our math skills... :smileywink:

edit:  Couldn't find any in my collection that were missing from that list.  But... I did look at the duplicates I had and they are actually different books.  Not sure if the books have anything different in them, but they have different authors, ISBNs, file size, etc.

For Example:

I downloaded

Collected Poems of Emily Dickinson (Barnes & Noble Classics Series) on July 1st.

  • by Emily Dickinson
  • Pub. Date: June 2009
  • Publisher: Barnes & Noble
  • Sold By: Barnes & Noble
  • Format: eBook
  • Sales Rank: 1,203

then I downloaded

Collected Poems of Emily Dickinson (Barnes & Noble Classics Series) on August 20th.

  • by Emily Dickinson & Rachel Wetzsteon
  • Pub. Date: June 2009
  • Publisher: Barnes & Noble
  • Sold By: Barnes & Noble
  • Format: eBook
  • Sales Rank: 1,062

Re: BN Classics - Week 9 - They Heard Us!

Oddly enough, I noticed that Christmas Carol is the only one of the Classics I've seen yet that the book's cover shows on my nook. Usually they just automatically pop to the title page.
