I apologize ahead of time I'm sure this has been asked a million times, I just got my Nook yesterday and I'm looking for a decent cover/carrying case for it any website suggestions (not Amazon or B&N I've looked there already) I'm not interested in the silicon ones I really don't consider them covers, I'm afraid to take my Nook anywhere unless it's protected. Thanks.

If you use the search function and search for covers, you'll find lots of threads on this. You can try M-edge and Oberon. I guess it depends on what you are looking for. BTW, if you're looking for a light, I really like the on M-edge sells. It's the third light I've purchased and the only one I happy with so far.

I had a B&N cover but I was never happy with it, so I recently replaced it with an Oberon and now I'm THRILLED with my cover. LOL! ![]()

I know you said no to BN covers, but the Industriell Easel cover is really cool. It's slimmer than most other covers and just looks nice. I have the Adler cover, like it, esp since it has a business card holder on one side of the cover. I put my money, Starbucks card in the holder when I go to Starbucks. Like that feature (also have the Alice cover w//o that feature). BUT
seeing the Industriell cover yesterday, thinking on getting that.
Boy, owning this Nook sure is getting expensive!

I have to agree... My cover from Oberon is fabulous! I ordered the "Tree of Life" and am so happy with the design, the materials, and the workmanship.

I can also recommend the Oberon covers. I have the Avenue of Trees, and I really enjoy it. It is beautiful, sturdy, and secure.

I also recommend the Oberon cover. I got Da Vinci - gives me the Rena feel to it, and looks like an old diary to be opened!
If you really love the craftmanship and the thought of a real human being making a special cover, it's for you. All the others out there...pssshaw - machine made. Only if you're willing to shell out the money. You won't be disappointed.
I, for one, will not use silcone cover again. I learned my lesson. :-)
I do secretly hope that if I ever buy a second generation or third generation nook, that it's similar in size so I can still reuse the Oberon cover. That would suck if it didn't. (Kindle 1 and 2 is drastically different in shape).

IMHO, the B&N Industriell cover is the best cover currently available. It clips onto the Nook using a very unobtrusive but sturdy mechanism and folds back on itself while you are reading. I personally would never buy any cover that has that ugly bottom 'slot' that the nook has to slide into and those awful corner straps. The other cover manufacturers really need to get on the stick and adopt the clip mechanism.
This is entirely my personal opinion though and I understand that others disagree. My advice is to at least stop by your local B&N and take a look at the Industriell cover and compare it to the others.

I think you should re-evaluate the B&N Industriell cover. The price is reasonable, it does not cover up the beauty of this device, cleans up with a damp cloth, and just feels good in your hand. Just my opinion ![]()

I have the M-Edge Executive cover as well, and I got the black light rather then white. Not sure why, it just seemed to go better. Anyway the light is great! I like the cover and it's exactly what I'd want while traveling, but it does make the nook a bit bulky, so I'm thinking of getting one of the more minimal covers for home use. (The exec is bulky due to the internal storage of the light) I'll definitely go with e-edge since they have a slot for light built into them.

I also use the B&N Industriell Cover and love it. I don't need pockets for anything and this cover is slim and unobtrusive.

After waiting months for a B & N cover to protect my NOOK and still not getting it. I decided to explore other options. I purchased a great looking cover made for the NOOK at www.oberondesign.com. Worth checking it out and no wait. Now I can take my NOOK with me and keep it safe and protected. Love my NOOK.

I bought the Alice in Wonderland cover from BN. I love it! I also purchased the MEdge Journey bag to keep it in.
The only thing is that I would like that the MEdge Journey bag were just a tad bigger. However, I can keep all my accessories in the journey bag. (light, and the cable that comes with the nook.

I have the Adler cover and the Lewis and Clark bag, love working with them both! Some people don't like the "tray" along the bottom, I do! It really keeps it secure and as someone before stated, it raises the nook just a tad so the page forward button is in a perfect position for me, I have really long fingers for a female (that's before the nails!).
The nook doesn't fit in the bag with the cover, but that's fine with me since I load it down so much the bag becomes rather bulky. Besides the nook, it holds my BG meter, my iPhone and all the cables, lights, etc. Shoot, I even have extra Splenda, band-aids and neosporine (others with diabetes will understand this, or moms with young kids!) so it's been a real boon for me, not to mention my doctor is impressed! ![]()
Here is my conundrum, I might be going the insulin route soon, and might need to find something that will keep all that as well the insulin stuff.
Has anyone found a bagthat would handle all that and still maintain a relatively small footprint?
Sidenote: Man, I wish they would let us add words to the dictionary on these boards!

Ressurrecting a dead thread to ask a question about the Oberon covers...
If I wanted to read one-handed with the cover folded back onto itself, would I be able to do that without awkwardness?
I found an Oberon cover review with a photo that made it look awkward. I find the covers so captivating that I'm asking for a second opinion ![]()

Following is a copy on covers from my reply on another thread on M-Edge Covers.
The Platform cover simply folds up, over and behind. It is comfortable enough and will be even "more comfortable" as the leather breaks in. I purchased that one for the reason so many like the B&N Industrial Cover..it stands the Nook up hands free...especially nice when eating and reading at a table. However I do like the Executive Cover better for traveling and storing the light at the same time. The light is neatly stored internally in the cover...while the light can be stored easily in the Platform cover and even though the cover is wide enough to accomodate the light down the side the cover is still open on both sides by the essence of the design. Now for comfort the Trip Jacket is by far the most comfortable to use. It is a bit thinner because it is canvas and is a bit smaller in the dimensions. A great every day cover. Very well made and very protective of the Nook. Alos the one feature that to me is a must on all these covers is they have a closure to keep the cover securely closed over the Nook...won't flop open in your purse etc. Just a great feature and so many of B&N covers do not have that. Also as an added note the Nook fits easily and is anchored very securely in all of these covers.
Oh yes the color. Well I selected the Executive in navy leather, the Platform in brown with mocha, and the Trip in navy canvas with lime green. Happy with all of them. I did also purchase an Oberon in the forest design in green leather. I know part of the reason I bought them all was couldn't decide on colors and loved all the designs...and having them all is a compulsive thing. And I sure do understand when you say you would want them in every color! Somehow this has to end (enough covers already!) but well there is another color and oh those Oberon designs!
There is my cover review!!!!! LOL Hope it helps!
