Don't buy the Nook Color - it has to be thrown away after the battery stops

I'm always suspicious of posts that say "Don't buy the nook (or whatever)".  Of course, I foolishly clicked on it to see what the gripe was.

When I purchase an electronic device that has the battery sealed inside, I will enjoy it until it no longer works.  When it no longer works, I will just purchase a new one.  I will have the latest model, too, by default.

Gosh, I was beginning to miss these long drive-by rants. Glad this one showed up, just for the entertainment value if nothing else. Can't figure out why the OP thinks the NC has a NiCAD battery.

But I did read something I didn't know before ... cars, watches and battery operated toothbrushes are evidently "consumer electronics." See, you just never know what you'll learn.

Especially with first you coming back, then JJ, things were looking pretty cheerful.
