I have two questions.

First is there anywhere on here that we can trade out books for the nook with other nookers?

Second is anyone out there into the Vampire craze? I have read all of Stephenie Meyer and would like to get into another book that has a series of 4 or more books. I don't want to waste time downloading and paying for books, that aren't good so I am looking for a little help from fellow readers

The Nook does have a lending feature that allows Nook owners to lend their ebooks to each other.

If you want to try another vampire series and liked Twilight, you might enjoy the Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris.

To answer your first question, the only option I know of is the book lending one.  A search on that on these boards will give you quite a bit of information.

To answer your second question, I would need more information such as age, sexual content preference (some of these series can be VERY graphic), etc.  A good adult series is the Black Dagger Brotherhood by J.R. Ward and a bit lighter weight, and humorous one, the Undead and Unwed series by Mary Janice Davidson.  The young adult series House of Night was decent as I read those along with my daughters so I could share in their discussions. 

Another suggestion would be to go to an online library site (I use Goodreads) and peruse their paranormal romance/vampire discussion boards.

Have you read any of Jim Butcher's Dresden books? Vampires, Wizards, Fairies, Demons ... Not in the vampire / bodice ripper category though.

I think one of the books was a Free Friday pick.

On facebook there is a group that is trading books back and forth using the lend me feature. You may want to check that out. I think it's call "I have a nook and I'm willing to lend books" or something along those lines.

I was just going to mention JR Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood and Mary Janice Davidson's Undead series. I've read both and enjoyed them. I have not decided on the House of Night series as yet but there are a lot of people who enjoy it.

Stephanie Meyers is a TERRIBLE author!  Twilight sucked worse than getting jabbed in the eye with the blunt end of a pencil!!!  I read them to see what all the fuss was about, and I barely made it through!  *SHIVER*  So I know about torturing yourself with a terrible book series.

I liked the Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris.  I started reading them because I loved the show on HBO.  Yes, the books are a little different (aren't they always), but I love them both now.

I absolutely LOVED Twilight as did quite a few other people... Having been forced to read many horrid CLASSICs during my school years, I read now for pleasure, not to impress anyone else with my ability to "understand" some "impressively written" book. 

I have to recommend the Anita Blake, Vampire books also.  LONG series of books and they are quite good but quite graphic so be forewarned.

to be clear on what is meant by graphic, the Anita Blake books, especially the later ones, are VERY sexually explicit

Try the Charlie Huston Joe Pitt series for non-commercial vampire books with a twist.  I'm reading the 3rd one now.

The Sookie Stackhouse were awesome, and I'm now reading the 7th book in the House of Night series. I like them way better than the Twilight books, but not nearly as much as Sookie. I've read all of the Anita Blake series, too.

Thanks for the tip for reading the JR Ward series. They look good, and I imagine I'll get started on them soon. Too bad they're not available via my library, though.

Yes the Anita Blake books to have a lot of sexual things in them.

But the newest one Skin trade had alot less than some of the others. Thank goodness. 

I tried the Black Dagger Brotherhood, read book 1 it was good.

Sherilyn kenyon is pretty good too.  THere are sex in those books to but it isn't as graphic as Anita Blake ones.

It's not bad at all but I may have enjoyed it more due to the sometimes "heated" discussions my two daughters had over the plot and their preferences for characters

There are just SO many paranormal romance series out there ranging from very good to not worth the poor trees sacraficed for their pages.  The romance/sex content has just as broad a range as well. 

Dark Lover (Black Dagger Brotherhood Series #1)  & Undead and Unwed (Betsy Taylor Series #1)  The BDB and Undead/Unwed series have differences and similarities with the BDB having the dark, violent, and brooding going on while UD/UW is light hearted and more fun. 

Pack Challenge (Magnus Pack Series #1)  A mixture of the two is the Magnus Pack Series (not vampires, but shifters).  I happened accros the 3 book series and enjoyed it SO much more than I thought I would.  Graphic and funny brain candy   They are by Shelly Laurenston and are on BN site right now for under $5 each.

Dead until Dark (Sookie Stackhouse / Southern Vampire Series #1) (True Blood)  I would also agree with the poster that mentioned the Sookie Stackhouse series. 

Guilty Pleasures (Anita Blake Vampire Hunter Series #1)    I would recommend the Anita Blake series, but would have to halt my recommendation after about #7 or #8 of the series as IMO she went overboard on the paranormal sex thing.

How about the series Blue Bloods.  There are four in the series so far and I'm on the last.  It's a different twist on the usual vampire books.  A nice change.

Yes well I would say in 7  & 8 of Anita Blake yes the paranormal sex was a bit much for me as well.

House of Night series, I wasn't sure about but I read the first book and it was pretty good

You could try the Vampire Diaries Series, I can't remember who it is by though, It was a TV show too...great book series and TV show.

I've been considering Vampire Kisses. It's a YA book series, and I've heard good things.

Try Cassandra Clare's Mortal Instruments series.  3 are out and available as e-books, the 4th is due out this year.  My daughter got me hooked on her writing when DD was in high school (she's now 24), and I've enjoyed the books myself.

Sexuality is appropriate for MS/HS age, violence and kids-without-supervision may not be.
