I was gone for about a week and my nook was not plugged in. I looked at the help section at Barnes and Noble and it said if nook s frozen to let it charge for 2 hours, but my picture (screen saver) is still on the screen does anyone know if this is normal PS it hasnt been 2 hours yet so i dont know if that worked yet just wondering about the screen saver thing???

My screensaver is always on the screen when I'm recharging. Just treat it as if you were waking up your Nook after it's been sleeping - press the top button.

If your battery is completely drained (which sounds like it might be the case if it hasn't been charged for over a week) the Nook will continue to display the last screensaver image (since that doesn't take any power).
Plug your Nook into its charger and just let it be. It may take up to 20 minutes for the orange light to come on depending on how dead the battery is. After about 2 hours, your Nook should start functioning normally.
I found this out the hard way after trying many of the known fixes (removing the battery, trying to re-boot, etc.) and finally figured out the battery was dead on my own. Found out I was right after the fact on these boards.
So, don't panic. Just let your Nook charge for a while. If that doesn't fix the problem, you might need a new battery. Check out the thread about the $9,99 batteries.
