Help shop trouble!

Hey I want to buy books but my "Shop" quit working! My N1E I hope isn't on its last strings. I tap on Shop and the screen goes blank for about one seconed before it jumps back to home. WTH? Why can't I access my Shop? Anybody? Help please!

Re: Help shop trouble!

I don't know what happened, but tw seems to be a widespread problem with N1Es this morning. There have been a lot of people complaining about it in the support board. The shoo is loading on my NC. I can't check yet to see if it's loading on my N2E because the battery is dead (though I fully charged it two days ago--first time that's ever happened to me), but it seems to be an issue only with N1Es right now.

Re: Help shop trouble!

I am having the same problem with my Nook 1st Edition.  I tap on Shop and it only opens for about a second or two before reverting back to the main screen.  I had to use my computer to buy a book.  I don't know yet if it has downloaded to my Nook.

Re: Help shop trouble!

As reported elsewhere, this is a known systemic issue that B&N is working on a fix for.

So don't panic, it's not just you.

In the meantime, people do seem to be able to make purchases directly at bn.com and have that content appear when they check for new. The problem seems confined to the shop function, not to the ability to connect/download from the server.

For now, be patient. In a few more days...

Re: Help shop trouble!

I just talked to BN tech support. They say this is now a "known issue" for 1st Edition Nooks and has been escalated to their higher level support folks.

I found that it's still possible to shop via computer and download into the Nook. Once you purchase from the store via computer, go into MyLibrary and click on the "Check for new B&N Content." The purchase will then download onto the Nook.

The issue is with the Store and NOT with our Nooks.

Re: Help shop trouble!

Well that would help if I had a pc. My Nook is all I got.

Just shop right on your Mac. Then download and transfer the books to your NOOK.

Shopping on your computer is much more pleasant than shopping on the NOOK.
