Since 1997, you’ve been coming to BarnesandNoble.com to discuss everything from Stephen King to writing to Harry Potter. You’ve made our site more than a place to discover your next book: you’ve made it a community. But like all things internet, BN.com is growing and changing. We've said goodbye to our community message boards—but that doesn’t mean we won’t still be a place for adventurous readers to connect and discover.

Now, you can explore the most exciting new titles (and remember the classics) at the Barnes & Noble Book Blog. Check out conversations with authors like Jeff VanderMeer and Gary Shteyngart at the B&N Review, and browse write-ups of the best in literary fiction. Come to our Facebook page to weigh in on what it means to be a book nerd. Browse digital deals on the NOOK blog, tweet about books with us,or self-publish your latest novella with NOOK Press. And for those of you looking for support for your NOOK, the NOOK Support Forums will still be here.

We will continue to provide you with books that make you turn pages well past midnight, discover new worlds, and reunite with old friends. And we hope that you’ll continue to tell us how you’re doing, what you’re reading, and what books mean to you.

How to Download pdf eBook

I recently downloaded an eBook to my PC that's in "pdf" file format.  How do I go about loading it to my Nook Classic ?  I've looked thru the Nook manual but I still in the dark.

Thanks in advance for your expertise.

Re: How to Download pdf eBook

Thanks for your reply...the information is exactly what I was looking for !!

I too am a lifelong reader...just never could find the time to satisfy my desire to read everything, that is until 2 years ago when I was downsized from my position at work after 40 years of giving 125+ percent.

The Nook is as fantastic as the members of this community.

Thanks again.

You are certainly welcome. And boy, do I understand. :smileywink: I used part of my severance check to buy the Nook 3G+Wi-fi and then got a Nook Color as a Christmas gift. So now the question is do I want to fully retire or keep at it. I have to admit the leisure time has been very nice and I get to read. But I do miss the people.

Something you might want to do. Some of the nooks came with the user guide already on them and in the library. If yours didn't. Go to the web page for your nook and then the support link. On the right side are the guides. They are in pdf format, so you can download them and add them to your nook. It comes in handy when you run into some odd little thing here and there.

Something they don't make a big deal out of is that one of the easiest things to do first when things get a little quirky, is to power the nook completely off and wait a few seconds, then turn it back on again. It's like having to reboot your computer. Sometimes the little nook just needs a fresh start.

Happy reading

Re: How to Download pdf eBook

Your advice regarding the user's manual is well taken.

Sure is heck getting downsized and being viewed as "old" by many...search for new, meanignful work is tough once you pass the 60 year mark.

Re: How to Download pdf eBook

Went to the link listed but could not find the video on how to download a PDF book. Is it still there? Is it is, what is it listed under? How many videos do I need to watch before I find the one I want?

Thanks,

They moved the videos around.  Above the video, click on the "Nook 1st Edition" tab.  The 6th video is titled "Sideloading content on your nook"

It should be pretty much the same as for Nook Touch.
