Lyra Book Light Case

Did anyone pre-order the Lyra Book Light Case?  If so, has it shipped yet?

Yes and no.    I checked a few days ago and it was scheduled to ship on 2/5 (yesterday) with expedited shipping.  Now the order status shows shipping on 2/8, which bums me out because I'm leaving on a business trip on Monday and was looking foward to having the case to protect my nook.  I'm going to my local store today to see if there are any nice covers in the store, if so I'm cancelling this order.

I ordered mine Dec. 3 with a ship date of Jan. 15. No change in date but I did get an e-mail from BN that they are delayed and did I want to cancel.  I am leaving it open for  now.  I noticed the price went up $10 from when I ordered mine so I will hang on with my order for now.

I ordered Jan 7 so my original was 2/5.  Hopefully it will ship Monday!  What was the price when you ordered?

I, too, am disappointed about the delayed shipping. I originally ordered Dec.19. The shipping date was Feb. 5, 2010...now it's March 10! It would be nice if they'd let us know what's going on. I've e-mailed customer service but haven't had a reply yet. I'm going to keep my order in since I need the light and the case. The separate light is now out-of-stock also...so, unless I buy a different light (for the Kindle) I figure I might as well wait.

Mine says march 10 now too.  Let me know what customer service says.  I know that when the Nook date got pushed way back on the order page, it still came much sooner the than order page date.  I hope it ships sooner than march 10!!!  I want to read at night without bothering my hubby!!!

The case was $39.95 when I ordered it, later it was $49.95.  My date is still 1/15.

Yep, you paid less than me!!!  I didn't order till Jan 7....that stinks!  Waiting seems to be the norm, so I am used to it with B&N. 

My Nook did come by Christmas as they promised even though the date on the order page had been moved well past that, so maybe the case will ship sooner as well.  Maybe I will get antsy enough to call customer service, but as of now I would rather not be on hold for hours...so I will wait.

yes, I ordered mine the beginning of Dec. It keeps getting the shipment date pushed back. Now they don't even know when it will be available. I cancelled mine, I will get something else for now.

Can a moderator get some sort of official feedback?  Is this case going to be produced and is there any kind of ETA?

I am personally wondering if this is going to end up being a waste of time.  I ordered mine December 3rd as well and there is no ship date yet.  I started checking the availability of the Lyra light clip on version.  If that comes available I'll probably cancel this order.  However I'd like a case that clipped on to the nook (not sure I like the straps) that had at least a pocket for the clip on light.  That was kind of the reason for ordering this case.  I wanted to not have to carry them separately when I went on business trips or to the hospital when my wife has our 3rd child.  That is suppose to be in May so I'm starting to doubt this case will make it in time.

If anyone from Barnes and Nobles reads this some useful information as to what is happening and why would be great.

When I first looked into getting a nook back in December I had my heart set on getting this cover/light combo. Now that I finally purchased one the cover is still "unobtainium". So I ordered a M-edge executive cover and light. With any luck it will be here Saturday. With the 20% off code and the discount for ordering the light with the cover it ended up costing only $58.98 delivered, in line with what the Lyra case would cost (if it ever becomes available again).

Don't hold your breath waiting for an answer from anyone on "staff." I asked this question twice, most recently a couple weeks ago.

Exactly! I've been holding out for a combo since December. I'm glad I didn't purchase back then -- wanted some feedback on how the light positions -- since the Lyra combo is obviously vaporware.

This looks promising. Waiting to hear back whether they will develop one for the nook.

For anybody interested in the Periscope combo solution , this is the response I got back from their sales:

The straps on the current Periscope Lighted Folio for the Kindle 2 are just a little off to securely hold the nook. Very close - but we're not happy with the security.
 
We are in production on a new model (Flip) which will hold both the nook and the current 6" Kindle models.
 
Hope to have them available by early April (maybe a little sooner).

Well, March 10 has come and gone and no word whatsoever.  Has anyone heard anything about this case?  I emailed customer service and they said it was available and scheduled to ship but I have heard nothing.  No shipping confirmation, no change in my order status and my card hasn't been charged.  I am really getting irritated with this.

Well I'm so disappointed. I ordered my case on Jan 5th and now it has once again been delayed. I couldnt even find them on the website today when I looked.

I emailed Customer Service and they responded the product will not be available until June now. I want to cancel it but have so much time invested now I dont know what to do.

I realize the nook is new and the response has been overwhelming but you would think they would have planned for this better. I'm very disappointed and upset with B&N's support on these products.

Has anyone heard anything else?

I called today - I ordered mine on January 5th - and the woman said that they would be moving the expected ship date back to June!  She said there were issues with the manufacturer.  On top of that, I inquired about what other cases were available (also with the thought of buying a case now and the light separately at a later date) and all but one - the "Industriell" front cover - are on pre-order status with a ship date at least 3 weeks away.  A little frustrating - especially for those of us who wish to travel with our nooks.

This is the email I got from customer service the other day regarding this case.  But I guess we will be waiting 3 more months...(If I don't cancel it!)

Am I wrong, or does that say the availability is comfirmed....meaning, it is available...right?
