Magazines...We need more to choose from :smileysad: I was a least hoping to be able to get a couple of the perodicals that I read ! Entertainment weekley , Weight Watchers , Romantic Times magazine and Bonkers. Come on B&N.....pleeeeese ! I'm holding off until I see a magazine I enjoy reading, before I purchase.

Re: Magazines

I had a subscription for The Writer on my nook 1st edition - until recently. Now it's only avaiable for the nook color and nook tablet. Very annoying. Generally unhappy with the way B&N handled that situation.

I'm curious as to why you're unhappy with the way B&N handled it?  It looks like it's not available on any eInk device, include the eInk Kindles.  That sounds like the publisher changed the format.  So I'm not sure what B&N could do, they don't publish the magazine.

Re: Magazines

@teacherguy66: Thanks for posting this. I had it for my N2E and had not caught the change yet.

I'm not annoyed at B&N for the format change. That's likely a publisher thing.

What is annoying is that, as a subscriber, it would have been nice for them to at least send out an FYI e-mail stating that the available formats had changed. I get plenty of B&N emails otherwise, so what's one more.

Now I have to go in, cancel my sub, check the most recent issue to see if it came through before the change, & then either eat the ~$3 or call CS to argue over ~$3. (Probably the former; my time/sanity is more valuable.)

Oh well, upside is I'll be saving $3/month going forward.

FYI The Writer is terrible now on Nook Color and Tablet (firmware 1.4.x), since both devices will "chop off" the top inch or so of each magazine page during pinch-zoom and pan in portrait mode. The top margin on The Writer is small so this means the top line or two of text is not readable unless the device is switched to landscape mode first.  B&N has not communicated any interest in fixing this bug feature.
