Since 1997, you’ve been coming to BarnesandNoble.com to discuss everything from Stephen King to writing to Harry Potter. You’ve made our site more than a place to discover your next book: you’ve made it a community. But like all things internet, BN.com is growing and changing. We've said goodbye to our community message boards—but that doesn’t mean we won’t still be a place for adventurous readers to connect and discover.

Now, you can explore the most exciting new titles (and remember the classics) at the Barnes & Noble Book Blog. Check out conversations with authors like Jeff VanderMeer and Gary Shteyngart at the B&N Review, and browse write-ups of the best in literary fiction. Come to our Facebook page to weigh in on what it means to be a book nerd. Browse digital deals on the NOOK blog, tweet about books with us,or self-publish your latest novella with NOOK Press. And for those of you looking for support for your NOOK, the NOOK Support Forums will still be here.

We will continue to provide you with books that make you turn pages well past midnight, discover new worlds, and reunite with old friends. And we hope that you’ll continue to tell us how you’re doing, what you’re reading, and what books mean to you.

Nook Dictionary

Some words I have tried to look up were not in the dictionary. Is there a good way to report those words and request they be added to future versions?

Also, I would really love for the built in dictionary to include foreign words and phrases.

Welcome!  :smileyhappy:

The dictionary is the dictionary:  it's a Merriam-Webster product, so there's no "adding" words.

Many Nook owners have asked for it to be replaced with a better dictionary.  If you'd like to suggest that too, just add it to any thread on Nook improvements, or start one yourself.  You'll find a lot of people agree with you.

The M-W Collegiate Dictionary is one of the better ones.  It might be nice if you could add say the M-W unabridged, preferably even if wasn't purchased from B&N.  Some users have such from Palm Digital Media(now ereader.com).

The interface was improved, but still could use some work and at least one bug fix.  Browsing the dictionary directly would be nice.  I liked the ability of the older eReader.com's Ereader to see the other words that are near one entered. That option showed the list even if the word entered was not found, and sometimes got you to a entry that would explain the work you tried to look up.
