I am an owner of the Nook Tablet as of now, and I was greatly disappointed. I was told there was a supply of good apps, as well as a non-glare screen protector to completely wipe away the glare, and when I applied this, the glare remained. None of these statements were true, and I actually found myself leaning toward the Nook first generation. My cousin owns it, and says it is a reliable, simple device for reading. What to do?? Should I stay with the nook tablet, or lean toward the first generation nook?? Or maybe the nook simple touch?? GRRR... Not sure. Please, help?!?!?!?

Unless you can find someone willing to sell an N1E on Amazon you probably won't find one easily. I have an NST and absolutely love it. It's geared for reading, so don't expect any apps or to listen to music, etc.

You can get a non-glare screen protector for the NT. I believe it is made by ZAGG. I have the NT and have been very pleased with it. I did get an N2A card for it and have the option of using it as an Android tablet, with full access to the Amazon App store, or using it as a NT. Both have their strong points and being able to use it in either version gives me the best of both worlds. My best to you.

I know this thread is a few months old, but in case someone stumbles upon it...
If you or someone you know is tech savvy, you can root the nook. This modifies the custom interface to allow more Android standard options. I forget which one I used, but it lets me easily switch between the standard nook interface and a standard Android interface. This also allows you to download/purchase apps from the Amazon and Google Play markets.
I love my nt for what it is, but am much happier with it now.
