Nook software does not have "MY STUFF" selection

I have a Nook  and a Nook color. I installed the Nook software on my tablet (Windows 7) pc and I do not see the "My Stuff" category which allows me to load my books into the library.

Help please.

Re: Nook software does not have "MY STUFF" selection

I'm sorry, I haven't used the NOOK for PC software for a long time.  I didn't even have it installed on this computer.  It used to have My Stuff.  I installed the newer version and I don't see it either.  Hopefully someone else can help you.

Re: Nook software does not have "MY STUFF" selection

I don't know what 'My Stuff' is, but in the Nook app for Android I have 'Library' which is the B&N books and 'My Files' which are the side loaded books.  Are neither of these what you're looking for?

Re: Nook software does not have "MY STUFF" selection

On the PC side, "MY STUFF" has a button that you press in order to load your own books into your Nook software, all of the other categories are for the BN DRM books. I would like to load my own personal books into the PC, I have them on my Nook, but have no way of getting them into the Nook PC app.

I've never used the My Stuff tab, but it's still there. I just checked and I have the latest version on my Netbook. When you open nook for pc on the left hand side you will see the big tabs for The Daily, My Library, Reading Now, Shop, and Settings. Click on My Library. It will expand so you can see the subcategories: all items, ebooks, emagazines, enewspapers, archive, and my stuff. When I open nook for pc the My Library tab is usally already expanded so that's probably the way I leave it whenever I close the program.

I don't usually mess with My Stuff, not even sure how it works exactly. I keep all my non B&N ebooks in a separate folder on my pc called books. I also have them loaded into Calibre so can can keep track of which ones are on my nook.

My Imanym-

Hey, I still show "My Stuff" on the Nook for PC software.  Its just moved under the tab labled "My Library" in the dropdown menu, at the bottom of the list. After you hit that click the "Add New Item" at the top to add things..

Hope that helped!

Okay, that's weird. I checked and it says I have the latest version. What version is yours? Mine says 2.5.3.4630. Maybe for some reason the latest version isn't showing up when I click check for new updates. I installed this one less than a month ago on this computer.

@ Nalia,  Now that is odd.. I am running the most up to date version of the software (version 2.5.3.4630) and I show it..

I wonder if its something that is from a previous version of the software or if you have to have something manually added to your Nook for it to show?

Inanym - you can always add stuff to your Nook manually if you have to..

To do this plug in your nook to your PC, then navigate to the "Computer", where it shows your hard drive (C).

Open the drive labled nook or the flash card on the nook if you wish to store them there.  Then look for the My documents folder on the nook, if you want them on the flash card you have installed in the nook you will need to create the "my documents" folder first.  Then just copy and paste your items into that folder (or drag and drop) and they should be there.

Please feel to correct me if I have this wrong as I'm rushing through it while trying to juggle a baby, lol..

I wonder if it's a bug.  I just updated to the latest version as well, and I have "My Stuff."  I already had three books in it.  (Decided to manage non B&N with Calibre so haven't bothered to add anything else to it.)

Maybe it only shows if previous versions put something in it.  When no previous "stuff" is found, is it possible that there's something going on that prevents it from appearing?

I'm absolutely not a programmer, so I could be left of left field, in the river, but it's my first thought...

OK, everyone, I figured out what'ss going on here.  It is weird, and a bit stupid, really.  To see My Stuff, I had to maximize the window.  Then, there is was, right at the bottom of my library list!  Apparently, the default size for my window was too small.

all items

ebooks

eMagazine

eNewspapers

Make your window larger or scroll down. Or click in that little space under "archive" and above "reading now."

Yeah, I saw the space after I posted the picture and took a really good look at it.  LOL  It wouldn't let me scroll down but resizing worked.  :smileyhappy:

Re: Nook software does not have "MY STUFF" selection

Before I start I have to say, ALL of you are AWESOME, I have never recieved so much support from a community so quickly. It further more adds a higher level of confidence to my investment in the Nook brand.

@Sir_Vikin

When I attach my Nook to my PC, I get a pop up window that asks me if I want to add books from my Nook to my Desktop, oddly enough I do see a checkbox for My Stuff. Now, My Stuff has books in it but it is not accessible for some reason.

My goodness, the problem is solved. It seems that the UI's resolutio nis too big, in fact it is hidden from view due to the size.

Red up a few notes to my reply to Nallia. Make sure your window is open enough, I'll bet it is JUST below where you are looking . :smileysurprised:

Re: Nook software does not have "MY STUFF" selection

THANK YOU!  I've been uninstalling/reinstalling, restaring, and hunting the Internet for an hour.  Truly an stupid (and EXTREMELY frustrating) display setting.

Thanks for taking the time to post the solution.
