Since 1997, you’ve been coming to BarnesandNoble.com to discuss everything from Stephen King to writing to Harry Potter. You’ve made our site more than a place to discover your next book: you’ve made it a community. But like all things internet, BN.com is growing and changing. We've said goodbye to our community message boards—but that doesn’t mean we won’t still be a place for adventurous readers to connect and discover.

Now, you can explore the most exciting new titles (and remember the classics) at the Barnes & Noble Book Blog. Check out conversations with authors like Jeff VanderMeer and Gary Shteyngart at the B&N Review, and browse write-ups of the best in literary fiction. Come to our Facebook page to weigh in on what it means to be a book nerd. Browse digital deals on the NOOK blog, tweet about books with us,or self-publish your latest novella with NOOK Press. And for those of you looking for support for your NOOK, the NOOK Support Forums will still be here.

We will continue to provide you with books that make you turn pages well past midnight, discover new worlds, and reunite with old friends. And we hope that you’ll continue to tell us how you’re doing, what you’re reading, and what books mean to you.

Overdrive?

How do I download a borrowed ebook from my library through Overdrive?  I can figure out how to get it on my computer, but not my NOOK.  Any tips?

Re: Overdrive?

Connect your Nook to your computer.  Open up Adobe Digital Overdrive and your nook will show up on the left side of the Overdrive screen.   Your books from the library are on the right side.  Drag your book over to your nook.  You library book will show up in My Documents  - it took me a while to find my library book.  Hope this helps!

Welcome to the NOOK Discussion Board!  :smileyhappy:

In order to transfer an ebook from your library's Overdrive site to your NOOK, you will need to download and set a program called Adobe Digital Editions.  This link, written by our esteemed fellow NOOKer FrogAlum, will guide you through the process:

Good luck, and happy reading!

Re: Overdrive?

A user not activated message when tranferring ebooks via ADE typically indicates that you did not authorize your nook.

Connect your nook to the computer, open the directory (double click on the nook icon so you can see the folders in it, if you're using a pc you can find that in start 'my computer', on a mac it should just be on the desktop), delete the folders 'Adobe Digital Editions' and 'Digital Editions', disconnect your nook, launch ADE, reconnect your nook, ADE should now prompt you to authorize.
