Since 1997, you’ve been coming to BarnesandNoble.com to discuss everything from Stephen King to writing to Harry Potter. You’ve made our site more than a place to discover your next book: you’ve made it a community. But like all things internet, BN.com is growing and changing. We've said goodbye to our community message boards—but that doesn’t mean we won’t still be a place for adventurous readers to connect and discover.

Now, you can explore the most exciting new titles (and remember the classics) at the Barnes & Noble Book Blog. Check out conversations with authors like Jeff VanderMeer and Gary Shteyngart at the B&N Review, and browse write-ups of the best in literary fiction. Come to our Facebook page to weigh in on what it means to be a book nerd. Browse digital deals on the NOOK blog, tweet about books with us,or self-publish your latest novella with NOOK Press. And for those of you looking for support for your NOOK, the NOOK Support Forums will still be here.

We will continue to provide you with books that make you turn pages well past midnight, discover new worlds, and reunite with old friends. And we hope that you’ll continue to tell us how you’re doing, what you’re reading, and what books mean to you.

Problems downloading purchased book. Now getting message saying "oops"

Purchased book other day and am using husband's computer. When attempted to download to Nook I got message that said needed acct. username and user code. Not completely certain what this is. Now, however, when I go into the site to download the book is just says "OOPS!).

What gives?

Does your husband have his own account?  Did you maybe buy the book on his account rather than yours?

Re: Problems downloading purchased book. Now getting message saying "oops"

Those geniuses at BN.com have worked another miraculous foul-up.

I tried to download an e-book using NOOK for PC. Got an error message saying it couldn't download right now.

Tried to download it on the Web from MyNook. Got that stupid "Oops" message.

Tried to download it to my Nook 1E. Got an error message saying it couldn't download.

Turned off the WiFi on my N1E, leaving it dependent on 3G. Downloaded fine.

???????

By the way, there were no problems at all downloading to my NOOK HD.

Ah, wonderful.  :smileyfrustrated:

So basically anyone who wants to buy ebooks this week should buy them elsewhere... good job Barnes and Noble.

No, they should just buy a NOOK HD or HD+. :smileymad:

Or use 3G to download! :smileytongue:

Yeah, not gonna happen. :smileysurprised:

Now if B&N comes out with an e-ink nook HD, now we're talking.

Re: Problems downloading purchased book. Now getting message saying "oops"

Oh dear, after chatting with agent online I fear this was my error. Have been in hotels for two weeks, and this time I failed to make certain my Nook was properly connected. I also apologize that I should have posted this on Nook Color forum.

Oh well, have had success and appreciate the input from others.

I've had the same problem and have been at home the whole time.  Unfortunately, I don't have 3G, just wifi.
