AB, why are you automatically assuming you're correct?  Others are obviously seeing different page numbers than you are.  Have you even considered that you may POSSIBLY be the wrong one here?

Both my Linear Layout and Topic Layout settings in my profile are set to display 40 posts per page.  I don't know if others have it set differently, but I don't remember ever changing those settings.

It looks like at some point the default was 30 messages per page. Actually I have two window boxes with the same description. One says 30 per page and one says 20 per page.

I changed mine to 40 messages per page so I could have a slow connection too.

Alan should change his to 500 per page so he doesn't have to fret over how many pages there are in a thread.
