At home, my nook will not download, even though it is showing "excellent" connection to my wireless. The nook will connect and download books inside a B&N store. Home computers working fine with wireless.
Solved! Go to Solution.

Thanks. I tried that and it did not work. I am going to unplug the wireless and replug to see if that does the trick.

I have been having the same trouble. Did you find a solution that worked?

Yes I have the same problem. Tried all sorts of different configurations. Encryption off, different channels, same effect. Even with two different routers! It will connect, and I can web surf, or check out the shop but when I go to actually download a book it fails every time via wifi. I don't have any issue with 3g mode though. It is very strange.

Having same issue with mine. No issues with several other devices connecting to wifi, but either the queue or very slow downloading using the nook.
Turned off the wifi, and used the 3G and things work fine.

I have the same issue here and a nook reset and a wireless reset did nothing to help.
I have been trying to download The Hunger Games for my daughter. It is the second day I have tried. .She is going into an extended hospital stay and getting down to the wire here.
I get the "qued" message over and over.
Previously this took a matter of seconds. It is not my internet, as the previous poster stated, all other devices in home have full strength, I will bring it to work and try the signal there, but still....I could have gome out and bought the book three dollars cheaper at Target by now....grrrrrr.
Very frustrating. Please help. Thanks. Everything else on Nook seems fine, books open, etc. Love my Nooks, not liking the failure to download. I paid for this book, it is not a freebie!

I suspect that some routers do not work with the Nook. Why I don't know, but I may try calling 1-800-thebook and see if they can actually help. Doubtfull but worth a shot. Something else you might try, I do know that "n" type routers do NOT work with the nook. But you should be able to go into the routers config and switch N to B and G only. If that is the problem it should fix it. In my case I know that is not the issue.
I had thought about getting a Nook Tablet or color but now I doubt it will work here since my nook 1st edition doesn't. I am thankful that I have the 3g model N1E or I would really be upset.
Oh something else you could do. Log into your libary on the B&N website, download the book then side load it on the nook (hook it up to your computer and drag and drop the file you downloaded into Mydocuments folder on the nook). Then at least your daughter can view the book you paid for. Or other freebies (there are quite a few, that you might also consider). It is not the best solution I know, but it will work for the moment.
