Battery replacement for 1st Gen

My battery is only holding a charge for one day of reading. I've had this 1st Gen going on 3 years or so. Does anyone know of a supplier where I can purchase a compatible battery replacement? I've found a couple on Amazon, but they seem to have poor ratings. TIA

Did you check with your local BN store? My store in NJ has a lot of 1st ed. batteries, although they have been sitting in a cabinet for a few years. New batteries are $30. Also, stores are supposed to replace your battery free of charge if you are having a problem. Call around and see if you can find any. Maybe they could mail you one if you paid over the phone.

You might want to try Batteries Plus.  I've seen them replace oddball batteries of every sort.
