Cannot Order Books

My nook is registered, I have WiFi, but I get the message "your nook is unable to connect" when I try to buy a book. . We even tried at the Barnes and Noble store and they couldn't get it to work. My account is set up correctly. I have been put on hold for a half hour at the customer service desk. I'm frustrated, it will be going back if I can buy books to read. Anyone else have this problem?

Well you'll probably find that ebook and nook help can be better found in that help section. Also look and see if your problem has already been solved for someone else there.

This is the ebook help board that the nook links point to, so OP is in the right place as far as I know.  Maybe the moderator would have some ideas or you could try a search to see if someone else has reported this.  That is if you haven't already doneso.

It seems people have had various issues and some things that helped them:

Changing default credit card

Making sure the billing address is correct on your default credit card

unregistering and reregistering the nook

sideloading a book purchased from b&n with the default credit card-some reported the downloads working after doing this with one book

oh well I know you can read all this yourself so.....

This method of correcting the issue also seems to have worked for me.  I have gotten a thank you note and a message telling me that the book will down load to my nook in a minute or two.  It has now downloaded to the nook.  thank you for the tip.

Changing my default credit card to Visa worked! Thanks to everyone who made the suggestion!
