Changing background color

Can you change the background to black with white letters on the regular Nook?

I hope that the app will have more color options soon, because I have computer vision syndrome and find sepia or white font on a black background easier on my eyes.

I could be wrong on this, but I don't believe white print on a black background is a viable option for e-ink.  It would take forever.  Regardless, the original Nook is basically stable.  B&N is quite unlikely to release any software updates for it, as their efforts are concentrated on the newer models that they are still actively selling.
