Re: Daylight Savings Time

i've got one even better.  i think my nook changed with the time change, but i recently traveled and it didn't come back to my time zone.  not so bad except everyone is saying change the time zone in settings and i apparently don't have that option.  there's no 'time zone' to select.  what gives?

Go to SETTINGS

Go to DISPLAY

Scroll down the list

TIME ZONE is the next to the last (bottom) item.

Re: Daylight Savings Time

I'm in Oregon and my timezone says mountain time. Whenever I change it to pacific time I'm an hour behind. Not a big deal but if I'm reading late at night I want to make sure I'm looking at the right time to gauge when to go to bed.:smileysurprised:

you mean 'time zone SHOULD BE next to last item.'  it's not.  i have no time zone option.  weird.  i guess i'll call tech support.  it's my first call, so i should consider myself lucky.

It is not on the first screen of options you must scroll down.

Re: Daylight Savings Time

I got a replacement Nook at B&N store yesterday (cracked button). It also has the time bug. Tech support said that there is an issue with SOME of their time servers.

It irritates me that a design flaw is essentially dictating how I must use my device in order to keep it from breaking....

Re: Daylight Savings Time

Daylight time seems to be fixed in 1.3.  I purposely set to the wrong zone earlier, and after connecting it now shows the right zone (est) and the correct daylight savings time.

i really want to say, 'i'm not an idiot!', but i know you're just trying to be helpful and i appreciate it.  i have no time zone option in my display list - yes, i've scrolled down.  and i've procrastinated calling support, but here goes...

Re: Daylight Savings Time

V1.3 fixed my time zones as well.  I had had to set mine to EST, and after download, that was one of the first things I checked.  It was set back to CST and showing the correct time.

If the option is missing there is either something wrong with your software install or you are not on 1.2 or later.  Since it appears to be fixed in 1.3, which should be out today, you may just want to wait until its official release.

WOO HOO!! 1.3 did the trick!  Plus, it's got some other cool features.  Thanks B&N!

Re: Daylight Savings Time

I have a wifi nook with 1.4 that didn't switch with Daylight Savings. I went into the clock settings and selected "Daylight Saving Time" which disabled DST, and my clock dropped back an hour immediately. (It's funny because we're in DST now, so you'd think it would need to be enabled at this time of year, not the other way around.)

I didn't have to change my time zone. I just disabled DST and it was fixed.

Maybe in the future this can be automated?

Re: Daylight Savings Time

When was the last time you turned airplane mode off and actually connected to the ship? And have you checked the time zone setting?

We're in standard time now, not DST.

It is automated if you have Daylight Saving Time on, and it has had a wireless connection.

Re: Daylight Savings Time

Turn off daylight savings time and it will go to the correct time.  Turn it back on when the time changes again.
