I have a nook 1st edition wifi and I changed my e-mail address associated with my account. Now it says that the email is not correct, but when I follow the prompts on the screen it says that my nook is already registered. I have 20 some books on there already, and am trying to purchase more. How do I change the email?

You're going to have to change your email address back to the old one on the website. Then unregister your nook, change the email address to the new one on the website, and then reregister your nook. All your books will be in your account and work fine when you do this.

Thank you SO much for this info. I have been pulling my hair out the last 2 hours trying to figure out what to do to fix this issue and finally found this. Worked perfectly.
