I posted this in a differnt area, but I think here is better suited
I tried buying an ebook the other day, and I keep getting the error:
"Please verify the default payment method on record in your account. (Download: 2080)"
I have verified that my credit card information is correct, but this error will not go away
(I tried downloading straight from website, and the Nook program for PC - the sample books will download)

Your best bet is to work with B&N Customer Service. They can see your account and your e-book(s), and can check things out. All we can do is make guesses.
1-800-THE-BOOK (1-800-843-2665), option 2 for Digital Support.

Unfortunately, Nook support can't even figure out how to handle the '2' for Digital Support if someone is calling from an iPhone, so a lot of people are out in the cold. My concern is that they have problems with the nook, with the nook for PC software (I have the same "please verify the default payment method on record in your account (Download: 2080)" problem) and problems even handling a simple call through a PBX -- it's a bit difficult holding out hope that they're going to get any of this stuff right.
