Since 1997, you’ve been coming to BarnesandNoble.com to discuss everything from Stephen King to writing to Harry Potter. You’ve made our site more than a place to discover your next book: you’ve made it a community. But like all things internet, BN.com is growing and changing. We've said goodbye to our community message boards—but that doesn’t mean we won’t still be a place for adventurous readers to connect and discover.

Now, you can explore the most exciting new titles (and remember the classics) at the Barnes & Noble Book Blog. Check out conversations with authors like Jeff VanderMeer and Gary Shteyngart at the B&N Review, and browse write-ups of the best in literary fiction. Come to our Facebook page to weigh in on what it means to be a book nerd. Browse digital deals on the NOOK blog, tweet about books with us,or self-publish your latest novella with NOOK Press. And for those of you looking for support for your NOOK, the NOOK Support Forums will still be here.

We will continue to provide you with books that make you turn pages well past midnight, discover new worlds, and reunite with old friends. And we hope that you’ll continue to tell us how you’re doing, what you’re reading, and what books mean to you.

Forever Loading

I've turned my Nook off.. after having a few incidents where it kept flashing my screen on me..and then restarted it. It is not forever starting up. I've even attempted to turn it off again and this does not effect it. Help??

I know its not the battery as I fully recharged it the night before.

Kept Flashing your screen?

That does not sound good. Top screen, or bottom screen?

If it is still showing the boot up screen,

hold the off button down for 20 seconds, then let it up.

Then tap it again.

It should boot at this point.

If it does not boot you might have to

remove the battery

Plug it in (with the battery still out)

Wait for it to boot

Put battery back in with it still plugged in

charge for a long time.

Re: Forever Loading

the booting isn't the problem. After holding the button down, or even taking the battery out it will still restart, the problem is.. it keeps on starting. I can't get past the 'Your device is loading" Page.

@ AmandaRei:  If you've already tried rebooting your nook by taking out the battery, and you're still experiencing this issue, you may want to call our digital support team in customer service.

They can be reached at 1-800-THE-BOOK  (1-800-843-2665).
