Ghosting / Image Burn w/1.41, Who else has it still?

I've been getting ghosting on my screen saver and wallpapers.  They'll both ghost on to each other and the text will ghost onto both.  Also on the wi-fi bars and plane but it seems everyone gets that (tell me if you don't).  For me it's a constant and significant problem.

The last post in the other threads, concerning ghosting or image burn, have been 5 months ago during the 1.3 update.

What I want to know is if it's still happening to you folks?

     also...

If you were one of the ones that got your Nook replaced, did it fix the problem?

I've read the previous threads and got all the conjecture that was floating around 5 and 6 months ago for why it's happening but that's not what I'm seeking, though it's interesting.  I'm just checking to see if no ones talked about it for this long because a solution was found and/or if my Nook was from a bad batch and just needs replacing.

Nook Specs are:

Update- 1.4.1

Wi-Fi/3G model

Purchased Oct 1, 2010 at a B&N Store.

Rock on and happy Halloween!

No ghosting here.  Purchased in April 2010.:robothappy:

That's about right. If you're getting ghosting outside of the Wi-Fi area, I'd recommend returning it for an exchange.

You're not telling us something! So there is known ghosting in the WiFi area, I've been wondering about this.

When I disable Airplane Mode, the large airplane silhouette in the main sceen remains as a ghost behind the WiFi signal strength meter. Is this common, or perhaps even intentional (hard to imagine)?

Thankfully this is the only place I've seen this so far.

That seems to be a bug in the 1.4 software where the Wi-Fi screen isn't fully erased during some transitions. It's not a deal breaker for me. :smileywink:

I just checked this out on my nook, and the ghost airplane/wifi symbol do show, but only while I'm in the wifi screen. It doesn't show when I'm reading or anywhere else.

From what I've read, it's extremely common for the WiFi and Plane to ghost on each other.  I don't see it as a big deal, for me at least. But when I see that plane over my wallpaper... :smileysad:  Thx for posting.

From the other threads they said the same thing but that it was the 1.3 update's fault. Good to know it's happening regardless of which update version you got.

Thanks everyone for posting so quickly!  Rock on!

I'll take it in tomorrow and see about an exchange. If I bring my laptop I could upload the screensavers/wallpapers onto the new one and test it right away.  Sounds like a plan.  I'll reply back here with the new developments tomorrow.

Please keep posting your Nooks status here even if yours doesn't ghost. Even that info is helpful.

I have this as well, but no other ghosting.

[ Edited ]

I took the Nook in.  They saw the problem and gave me a new one on the spot.  I still see the ghosting with this one but no where near as bad.  Also I noticed that the version on this one (after I connected it to 3G and got the update) is 1.4.0.  Yet my old one was 1.4.1.   Meh.  I've also noticed that this new ones blacks are much darker and the resolution on the text is much better.
