The clock on my wifi-only nook is ahead by about 10 minutes (runs fast by about 5 minutes/month). I can't figure out a way to adjust it. I read some older threads which say the nook adjusts its clock over 3G. But my nook doesn't have 3G. I trie3d connecting it to my computer by USB and by wifi, but that didn't help.

I have a similar problem with my WiFi Nook, except my question is "how does the time update with the time change that occurred overnight"? I have searched the help section as well as FAQ and cannot find an answer.

Never mind! I just figured it out. You have to go to settings, clock, and turn Daylight Saving Time off. Then it works. I KNEW as soon as I asked a question I'd figure it out myself!

Make sure your wifi is connected and not in airplane mode then go to settings, display, clock and turn off the DST. Nook will then update.

Unless you are in an area that has unusual day light savings time, or happen to be right on the edge of a timezone (and happen to access a server in the other zone), you should have to nothing but connect to correct minor time errors. Sucggest going to check for new B&N content. The time change for DST to ST should occur automatically even if you are not connected. Once you start playing with the TZ settings manually you may have to always change the tz and daylight savings time manually. And the setting for Daylight savings time should actually stay on, as it means automatically set daylight savings time. Mine, for example says
Timezone (GMT-05:00) Eastern time
Daylight Savings Time On
Clock Format 12 hours
And the correct time is displayed this morning.

The time adjusted itself. I didn't have to do anything.

I had to turn DST off to get mine to show the right time, but I'm west of the Hudson so I don't think I matter.

I see my thread has been hijacked...
My question is NOT about DST. I figured that one out. My question is: how do I adjust the clock that runs 10 minutes ahead of time (and gets worse every day).
I've had my nook connected by wifi to my router continuously for a couple of days now. I've "checked for new content" probably about 200 times; I've tried the USB connection too. Yet still my nook runs 10 minutes ahead.

Had similar problem. Have Nook wifi, time was 6 minutes fast. I turned off the airplane mode, made sure the wifi was on and then did a complete shut-down (held the top button down for about 10 seconds). Once I held the button down again, the nook software loaded up and the time was adjusted to the correct time. Hope this works for you.

Yes, this worked. Thank you!
You'd think that with a clock as inaccurate, the procedure for adjusting it would be automatic or at least less involved. Above all, you'd think it would be addressed somewhere in the manual or at least FAQs.

Shhhh - don't tell everyone - BUT
If your clock tends to run fast this implies that your nook is slightly over clocked, ie slightly faster than everyone else's ![]()
It's not a problem, it's an enhanced feature.

March
Mine is slow by 11 minutes - and it only just happened with the latest update. I've tried turning it off/on - going WiFi - connecting w/USB. NOTHING works & it's driving me nuts! I actually USE the clock feature and do not wear a watch. Any more thoughts?
