I dont like using a screesaver

Hi!

I have my nook since a while, and first it was fun having a lot of screensavers, but now, I just want leave the nook on, without any screensaver-sleep mode, just like if I was reading all the time, leaving it on all the time

my question is, this can be bad for the battery or for the nook itself?

It's not possible to leave it on all the time. AFAIK, it will sleep automatically.  But yes, if you found a way to leave it on all the time, that would mean that the IR sensors would be constantly on, which would hurt battery life.

This is the First Edition section. The First Edition doesn't have IR sensors.

Probably some power consumtion by the capacitive touch screen though. If not turned off using airplane mode the WiFi and/or 3G radios would probably use more energy than the touch screen though.

Sorry, my bad, I forgot where I was.  The first edition will definitely take a battery life hit if left on all the time, but you can't do it anyway. The device will put itself to sleep.
