Since 1997, you’ve been coming to BarnesandNoble.com to discuss everything from Stephen King to writing to Harry Potter. You’ve made our site more than a place to discover your next book: you’ve made it a community. But like all things internet, BN.com is growing and changing. We've said goodbye to our community message boards—but that doesn’t mean we won’t still be a place for adventurous readers to connect and discover.

Now, you can explore the most exciting new titles (and remember the classics) at the Barnes & Noble Book Blog. Check out conversations with authors like Jeff VanderMeer and Gary Shteyngart at the B&N Review, and browse write-ups of the best in literary fiction. Come to our Facebook page to weigh in on what it means to be a book nerd. Browse digital deals on the NOOK blog, tweet about books with us,or self-publish your latest novella with NOOK Press. And for those of you looking for support for your NOOK, the NOOK Support Forums will still be here.

We will continue to provide you with books that make you turn pages well past midnight, discover new worlds, and reunite with old friends. And we hope that you’ll continue to tell us how you’re doing, what you’re reading, and what books mean to you.

I have spent hours reading posts to no avail, deleted books still showing up on my Nook!!

I have deleted books in My Documents and they still show up thought they can not be opened.

I can't find the hidden trash folder thought I have my settings on show hidden file folders.

I have rebooted it all the way and I am at my wits end.

Please can someone help?  I am really tech savvy so this is making me nuts!

TIA

Lizzie

Re: I have spent hours reading posts to no avail, deleted books still showing up on my Nook!!

Update: All of a sudden, the upmteeth time I put it back onto the computer, safely ejected and rebooted, it decided to automatically check for new content, which it had not done any of the other times and it updated my library.

I very much wish a new update would come out so that I don't have to scroll through all 15 pages of My Documents to find what I am looking for.  The whole reason I deleted books in the first place was becuase I got sick of scrolling through the 30 pages I had on there.

Next update soon, please????

Have you tried a hard reset?  Sounds like your index is corrupt and a hard reset may fix it.

Press and hold the power button for 20 seconds then release. Press and release the power button again to start the nook.

Any time you add or delete books you should always check for new content.  It doesn't happen automagically.

I was having this same problem. I side loaded all my books via Calibre, but just deleted books through Windows Explorer. Even if I "checked for new content," the deleted books were still there. I finally noticed that a "metadata.calibre" file was being place in the root folder of the nook. After deleting this, all my deleted books no longer showed up under "my documents."
